I used the Simply Sunshine Collection from Creative Memories to make some spring layouts and a card.  Yellow is my happy color, and Simply Sunshine fills me with happiness!  But it’s not all yellow – there are shades of green and blush too.  The paper pack contains sweet floral prints mixed with a wood-pattern, plaid and some small neutral geometric prints.  And the stickers and embellishments are absolutely adorable!

You can see some of this adorableness in my first layout that I filled with an abundance of the sweet stickers and embellishments.  They’re all so cute that it was hard to restrain myself!  I started with a 5″ x 7″ photo of my granddaugher that I trimmed to 4-3/4″ x 6-1/2″, and then I created a layout based on my current favorite tool – the Banner Flag Punch!  My layout reminds me of a spring clothesline hanging with banners of all sizes.

 

My large banner pieces are 6-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  I trimmed the variety mat with the spring title into a banner shape and tore some strips for the top and bottom of my layout.  I used the Banner Flag Punch to punch pieces and attached them to a 1/4″ strip, and then adhered the strip with banners with Foam Squares.  I added embellishments and stickers adhering some with Foam Squares.

 

When I saw the bunny and chick embellishments, I immediately knew that I would be using Simply Sunshine to make an Easter layout.  The photos of my granddaughter sitting in the grass inspired me to make a multi-layered grass border for the bottoms of the pages.  To make the grass borders, use the Majestic Mountain Border Punch to punch four borders from the green print paper. Use your scissors to snip off the tops of the mountains as shown in my photo below.  Use the Tulip Border Punch to punch two borders from the yellow print paper and nestle the tulips in between the grass.  I used Foam Squares to give dimension to my grass border.

To complete my layout, I created little Easter vignettes with stickers, embellishments and Easter eggs that I cut from variety mats using the Custom Cutting System with the Gemstone Cutting Patterns.  (There is an egg shape inside of the smallest heart cutting pattern.)

 

You may have already seen my third layout as it was featured in the April 12th-14th World Wide Virtual Crop held by Creative Memories.  To print a sketch of this layout, please click here to visit the CM Blog.  To create this layout, cut the dark green paper pieces to 11″ x 10″ and cut out the centers to conserve paper.  Also cut out the centers of the floral paper used as the background to conserve paper.  Cut the light green paper to 10-3/4″ x 9-1/2″.

 

My border pieces measure 12″ x 2″ and 12″ x 1-1/4″.  I created the scallop piece on the borders by punching Hay Shimmer Cardstock with the Original Border Maker System with the Rainbow Cartridge and using scissors to snip off the inside loop.

I cut five photos with the Custom Cutting System with the smallest circle pattern with the red blade on the outside edge and cut the mats with the green blade.   My vertical photos measure 3-1/4″ x 6″ and are matted with 3-1/2″ x 7-1/4″ and 3-1/2″ x 9″ pieces of evergreen cardstock.  The border pieces on top of the photos are 3-1/2″ x 1″.  I punched a few smaller flowers from Hay Shimmer using the Embossed Trio Flower Punch.  Make sure to adhere some of the embellishments and the “Sunshine” sticker with Foam Squares for dimension.

 

The last item that I created is a folded double-pocket card using a sheet of the Simply Sunshine paper and the new 12″ Trimmer from Creative Memories.  I shared this project on our Creative Life Scrapbooking Facebook page earlier in the month.  Please click here to view a video that shows how to cut and fold the paper to make the card.  I decorated the pockets of my card with pieces punched with the Original Border Maker System and Rainbow Cartridge and filled my card with tags that I created using the 4-Way Essentials Punch.
