Sticker Heart Layout

Happy February! It’s the month of love, and I have a new heart layout for you. My Sticker Heart Layout is a great way to use leftover stickers! After scrapping with a collection, I’m often left with a few extra stickers that I just can’t throw away. This is especially true with Creative Memories Simple Page Kits. The Simple Page Kits include an entire sheet of stickers to give us options, but there will be some leftover stickers after creating the Simple Page layouts.

For my layout above, I used papers and stickers from the Noteworthy Days Collection and leftover stickers from the Noteworthy Days Simple Page Kits. The mishmash of sticker clusters really pop against the Bright White Cardstock background of my large heart. I also used Foam Squares to add dimension to some of the stickers.

I created my own jumbo heart template. Please refer to my YouTube video for a discussion about this. Instead of a heart background, you could use a different shape or use the technique to create borders.

Please click here to view my instructional video.

My layout is going to be great for some Valetine’s Day selfies of my hubby and me! The close-up selfies will look great against the busy sticker background. Now that I have the layout completed, I’ll have to make sure that we celebrate with a dinner out or a visit to the bakery for a sweet dessert!

Creating Dimension & Texture on Scrapbook Layouts

I used the Denim Revival Collection from Creative Memories in some fun ways to add dimension and texture to my layouts. I’m a gal who loves her blue jeans! I can wear them every day and dress them up when I need. But mostly when I think of denim, I think of my favorite pair of Levis that are worn in just perfect and frayed on the bottoms. I used this inspiration to create fringe details that give my Denim Revival layouts a warm and fussy feeling.

The Denim Revival Collection from Creative Memories is full of great denim prints and great neutrals in a variety of shades and patterns. I love how the distressed shades of brown and tan complement the denim prints and make great contrast for creating fringe! Just like our blue jeans, you can dress these papers up or down to create many different kinds of feminine and masculine layouts. Plus, the denim papers can be paired with many of our other CM collections. The Denim Revival Embellishments, Stickers and Variety Mats contain great everyday titles and icons that can be used for most any kind of layouts.

For my first layout, I used the Custom Cutting System with the smallest heart from the Gemstones Cutting Patterns to cut a heart from a denim paper. I used the Micro-Tip Scissors to cut out the center of the heart and add snips to both the inside and outside edges to create fringe. To see a demo, please view my YouTube video. (After you finish watching my video, I would greatly appreciate if you would also subscribe to you channel.)

To create the hearts on the left and right, I used the Custom Cutting System with the smallest heart from the Gemstones Cutting Pattern to cut two hearts from cardstock. I cut fringed strips and adhered them at an angle to create the heart on the left. I filled the heart on the right with scraps and used my Brown Dual-Tip Pen to add faux stitching to create a patchwork heart.

For my second layout, I created more fringed pieces to add texture and interest. The border on the left is 4″ x 12″, and the border on the right is 2″ x 12″. The fringed strips are 3/4″ x 12″. I used the Square Punch from Creative Memories to punch 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ squares and used the Micro-Tip Scissors to cut my snips to make fringe.

For tips on cutting the fringe pieces, please click here to view my video.

I created my last layout for Creative Life Scrapbooking and shared it for Featured Project Friday on July 19th. You can find a printable handout with instructions on our Creative Life Scrapbooking website at www.creativelifescrapbooking.com. I also created a video demo for CLS on how to create my large fluffy fringed flowers. You can view that video on our Creative Life Scrapbooking YouTube channel.

Sweet On You Scrapbook Layout

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that your day is happy and filled with love! I like to create pretty pages and find unique ways to use Creative Memories tools. For Valentine’s Day, I was inspired to find a new way to use the Infinity Heart Border Punch and create a layout using the Sweet on You Collection. This layout will also look beautiful with the new Something Blue Collection.

I love the large chunky border that I created by cutting apart and threading pieces that I punched with the Infinity Heart Border Punch! I added some extra love with letters and hearts punched from the recently retired Love Letters Punch. I used the Original Border Maker System with the Notebook Edge Border Maker Cartridge to add a decorative edge to my journaling box.

To Create My Layout:
1. Cut a piece of Hot Fudge Cardstock to 12″ x 7-5/8″. Cut a piece of the icon paper to 12″ x 7-3/8″, and adhere to the cardstock piece. Adhere the layered piece 3/4″ from the bottom of a sheet of brown striped paper.
2. Cut three 12″ x 1/4″ strips from the red paper.
3. Use the Infinity Heart Border Punch to punch two borders from White Cardstock. Use Micro-Tip Scissors to cut apart the borders into segments of three, two and one as shown. Thread a red strip through each segment, and adhere to the page as shown.
4. Use the Love Letters Punch to punch three words from White Cardstock and six hearts from red paper. Adhere the love letters to the strips as shown. Use Foam Squares to adhere the hearts as shown.
5. Cut a 2-1/4″ x 5″ piece of Hot Fudge Cardstock. Cut a 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of white grid paper. Use the Original Border Maker System with the Notebook Edge Border Maker Cartridge to punch one long edge of the white grid paper and adhere to the hot fudge piece. Adhere the layered piece to the layout. Use the NEW Tab Punch to punch a tab from White Cardstock. Cut the tab in half, and adhere to the top of the journaling box.
6. Cut four 4″ x 4″ photo mats from Hot Fudge Cardstock and adhere to the layout as shown.
7. Add stickers with Foam Squares and love letters to the journaling box.

Easy Jumbo Heart Layout

I LOVE making pretty pages, and hearts are one of my favorite motifs. With a loving hubby and two sweet granddaughters, it’s easy to find photos for heart themed layouts. Search my blog for “love” and “hearts”, and you’ll see many heart layouts that I’ve created over the years. This year, I used a quick technique with squares to create a large heart background and used the Love Letters Punch from Creative Memories to add words around my hearts.

For my first layout, I used the new This Life Collection from Creative Memories. This is a great basic collection in primary colors that can be used throughout the year for all sorts of layouts. This Life Word Embellishments are my favorite part of the collection. It’s an entire pack of titles! CM also offers a This Life Calendar Kit Bundle and Simple Page Kits that coordinate with the This Life Collection. Look for these items to remain in the product line for all of 2024.

For my second layout, I used the super cute Sweet on You Collection from Creative Memories. This is a mini collection that features a paper pack with 6 sheets, a single sheet of stickers and a layered frame. The heart, strawberry, and donut icons are fun, and I love how they’ve included shades of brown to temper all of the pink and red. I used this collection to create a layout for the Creative Memories Blog. Please click here to see my layout on the CM Blog.

I embellished both of my layouts with letters punched with the Love Letters Punch. This punch recently sold out, but it was in our product line for over a year. I still have some in my personal inventory if you’re interested. Please watch my video for tips on using the Lifter Stick, Multi-Purpose Tool and Repositionable Tape Runner for easily and quickly placing and adhering the small, punched letters.

Please see my YouTube channel for step-by-step instructions on how to create my layouts. When you subscribe to my channel, make sure to click on the bell icon to receive notifications when I add new videos.

I appreciate your purchases through my Creative Memories website link, and I offer a generous Customer Rewards Program.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today! Happy Scrapping!
