Quilt-Inspired Pumpkin Layout

Happy Fall!

October is here, and in my mind, that means it’s officially fall! I love all four seasons, but fall has always been one of my favorites. After a long, hot summer, I welcome the cooler temperatures and beautiful fall colors. There’s just something special about the change of seasons and the cozy feeling that comes with autumn.

Speaking of things I love, I am absolutely loving the new Autumn Abundance Collection from Creative Memories! The beautiful colors, patterns and embellishments make it so easy to create gorgeous fall pages.

Today I’m excited to share the fourth layout I’ve created using this collection. I’ve had so much fun finding different ways to use these beautiful papers and embellishments, and I hope this layout inspires you to pull out your favorite fall photos and start creating!

I used the Autumn Abundance Papers, Stickers and Embellishments from Creative Memories to create the layout featured above. I especially love this version because it showcases so many of the beautiful paper patterns in the collection. The Bright White Cardstock provides the perfect pop of contrast and really makes the autumn colors stand out.

Adding the pen stitching was the finishing touch that brought the entire layout together. It adds just the right amount of detail and gives the page a handcrafted feel.

I love this quilted pumpkin design so much that this is actually the third time I’ve created a layout using it! You can see my first version from Croptoberfest 2019. Here’s a link to that version found here on my blog.

If you’d like to learn how to create the quilted pumpkin and the coordinating floral embellishments, I have a step-by-step demonstration available on my YouTube channel.

I hope you’ll give this design a try and put your own spin on it!

Two years ago, I updated the quilted pumpkin design using the Golden Harvest Collection from Creative Memories and turned it into a double-page layout featuring pretty floral elements.

I love how this version pops against the darker background! The contrast really makes the quilted pumpkin and floral details stand out.

If you’d like to create the double-page version, be sure to download my printable handout for the complete step-by-step instructions.

2026 Virtual Croptoberfest!

Last week, I launched my Virtual Croptoberfest event. I enjoyed creating four gorgeous double-page layouts using the 2026 Croptoberfest Project Bundle from Creative Memories.

For these layouts, I incorporated the new Falling Leaves Border Maker Cartridge along with the Ripple and Curves Border Cutting Tools to create beautiful, layered elements.

When you register for my Virtual Croptoberfest, you’ll receive printable handouts and recorded video instructions, so you can create the layouts at your own pace.

Fall Layouts with Maple Leaf Recipe Template and Custom Cutting System Acorns

Today I’m sharing two layouts that I created with the Maple Leaf Recipe Template from Creative Memories. The recipe templates are so versatile and can be used to create many different patterns and layouts. For my layouts, I selected not to use the diagonal sections around the outside of the template but rather just the center leaf.

For my first layout, I used the Croptoberfest 2022 Project Recipe Kit and 2022 Croptoberfest Mini Pack Embellishments. If you love these materials, please consider joining me for my Virtual Croptoberfest Workshop on October 15th. We’ll be live on Zoom, but the page classes will be recorded, and I’ll provide printable handouts for the 6 exclusive original layouts that I’ve designed for this event. Please click here to register now.

I used the Maple Leaf Recipe Template to trace my large leaves, and I used the Custom Cutting System with Oval Patterns to create my fun acorns. I used the Pure Brown Dual-Tip Pen to ink the edges of all of the paper pieces of this layout.

For detailed instructions and a step-by-step demonstration on how to create the acorns and this layout, please view my video on YouTube.

Please share your version of this layout to my Facebook group, Karyn’s Croppers for an entry into my October Door Prize.

I created and shared my second layout with Creative Life Scrapbooking on Facebook. For this layout, I used the Maple Leaf Recipe Template and the new Golden Harvest Collection from Creative Memories. This is a gorgeous fall collection with beautiful, foiled embellishments and fun layered border embellishments. For instructions to create this layout, please see my original post to Creative Life Scrapbooking.

All of the tools and materials that I used are available to purchase through my Creative Memories website link. I appreciate all of your orders and offer a generous Customer Rewards Program.
