Zigzag/Peak Layout with Creative Memories Border Cutting Tools

I am LOVING all of the different shaped edges we can create with the NEW Creative Memories Border Cutting Tools! These are truly must-have items for your scrapbook stash. The creative possibilities are endless!

There are two different sets, each featuring unique designs:
1. Waves, Swells, Crests & Arch
2. Zig Zag, Peak, Curves & Ripple

For my layout below, I used both edges of one cutting tool to create a fun and unique design — such an easy way to add interest and movement to your pages!

For the layout above, I used the Zig Zag/Peak Border Cutting Tool with the Red Blade to cut one sheet of double-sided designer paper into these fun, unique shapes!

The Bright White Cardstock background gives the perfect contrast and really makes those shapes pop!

I created this layout using the NEW Birthday Bash Papers, Embellishments & Stickers — such a fun and festive collection!

I used the same tools and technique with the NEW Spring Equinox Collection and Baby Blue Cardstock to create my second layout — and I’m loving how it turned out!

The circular photo in the center is beautifully flanked by complementary photos, creating a balanced and eye-catching design. I’ll be adding a bit of journaling around the center photo on each layout to finish it off perfectly.

2026 National Scrapbook Day Layout

For my post today, I’m double-dipping a bit! I’m sharing one page from my exclusive National Scrapbook Day layouts as my Monthly Technique Layout.

My National Scrapbook Day layouts are exclusive and will only be shared with those who register for my event. But I wanted to give you a little sneak peek so you can get a feel for what you can expect from my layouts!

I can’t wait to share the full projects with everyone who joins me for my Virtual National Scrapbook Day Workshop! I’ll host Zoom sessions on May 1st and 2nd, and all instructional videos and handouts will be available indefinitely in a private Facebook group for the event.

Just like this page, all of my NSD layouts are beautiful with lots of layers and fine details. I downplayed the chicken elements and focused more on the floral aspects of the materials to create more versatile layouts.

This page is one half of a double-page layout, and I’ve created five double-page layouts in total that I’ll be sharing during my Virtual National Scrapbook Day Workshop. I’m really excited about these designs and can’t wait to create them together with those who attend!

Easy Jumbo Circle Layout

For my Technique Layout and Challenge this month, I’m sharing a quick and easy layout idea. Although it’s quick and easy, it still delivers a great visual impact. And there’s room for plenty of photographs and journaling while preserving the graphic design.

To create my layout, you’ll only need your 12-Inch Trimmer and Custom Cutting System with the Jumbo Circle Pattern. For my layout above, I used the new Grateful Harvest Collection with the new Caramel Cardstock and Beige Cardstock. I also used the new Potter’s Clay Ink Pad to ink the edges of the layout, my photo mats and the embellishments and stickers.

Berry Harvest Layout

What is your favorite summer berry? I recently asked this question in my private Facebook group, Karyn’s Croppers, and the majority answer was strawberries! I really love all berries, but I have a particular fondness for blueberries as my blueberry bushes are one of my garden successes. My bushes have matured and in recent years, they have been producing bumper crops for me. I spend a few weeks each summer picking blueberries every few days, baking with them, freezing them and eating them by the handfuls. They taste so much better than store bought berries!

I was excited when Creative Memories released their Berry Harvest Collection last month! The paper prints, stickers and embellishment icons are adorable, and I couldn’t wait to create with them. I’ll use my layout above for some photos of my granddaughter making our traditional blueberry pancakes. But you don’t need berry photos in order to use the Berry Harvest Collection. You can use it to create sweet summer layouts.

To create my layout, I used the Berry Harvest Collection, the Custom Cutting System with the Jumbo Wavy Square Frame Pattern (retired) and the Leafy Vine Border Punch (one of my favorite punches). I also used the new White Jelly Roll Pen to add some white accents to my blueberries and leaves. You can substitute the Jumbo Circle Cutting Pattern for the Jumbo Wavy Square Frame Pattern.

Hollow Frame Mosaic Scrapbook Layout

Do you love Creative Memories Custom Cutting System? It’s one of CM’s most beloved tools! Today, I’m sharing a technique that you can use with the Custom Cutting System to cut hollow shapes that you arrange to create a mosaic style layout. If you would like 6 more unique ideas for the Custom Cutting System, please consider joining me and two of my designer friends for our Crop Class: Custom Cutting System Edition. Please see the end of this blog post for more info about the class.

For my layout above, I used the Custom Cutting System with the Rectangle Cutting Patterns to cut hollow shapes in a variety of sizes. You could also use any of the other Cutting Patterns to create a similar layout. I arranged the hollow frames into an inter-locking pattern to create an interesting design. I thought that this technique worked well with the new Hit the Road Collection from Creative Memories. The mosaic pattern reminds me of an interwoven highway system in a large city.

I used the leftover solid shapes to create a second layout that is oriented horizontally. You’ll notice that my first layout is oriented vertically. I used the retired Road Signs Mini Trio Punch Set to punch some embellishments for both pages and also added stickers and embellishments from the Hit the Road Collection.
