National Scrapbook Day 2019 – Daisy Scrapbook Layouts

Each spring, scrapbookers around the world celebrate our love of scrapbooking with National Scrapbook Day.  This year, I’m holding my National Scrapbook Day workshop on May 4th – the “official” day of NSD.  My event is almost full, but please contact me if you would like more information about my workshop.

Creative Memories has created some super cute exclusive 2019 NSD items that can only be purchased directly from a CM advisor.  There is a NSD Kit with materials and instructions to make 2 double-page layouts, a pack of coordinating cardstock, a NSD Daisy Album, and a 2019 NSD Charm.  If you don’t have a CM advisor, I would be glad to help you get any of these items.

I loved the NSD Kit so much that I made some additional layouts with it.  I also used the coordinating NSD Cardstock and NSD Gift Embellishments that are packaged as gift items for advisors.  I’ll use these layouts for photos from my National Scrapbook Day workshop.

To create my first layout, use scissors to hand-cut around the hexagon shapes of the yellow print paper.  My resulting piece is 12″ x 9″.  Fussy cut a 12″ by approximately 2″ strip of daisy paper and adhere under the yellow paper.  Cut individual and partial daisies and layer and adhere behind the first strip.  (You may wish to complete some of the other layouts first, and then cut your daisies from you scraps.)

To complete your page, add stickers and embellishments adhering some with Foam Squares as shown.  Use a black pen to add faux stitching and details as shown.

My second layout, is a fun take on the daisy theme.  Cut a hollow frame from a sheet of the Vista (blue) Shimmer Cardstock and attach a piece of 11″ x 11″ white cardstock.  Using the Custom Cutting System with the small Heart Pattern and Green Blade on the outside edge, cut 5 hearts from Vista Shimmer Cardstock.  Use the Red Blade on the outside edge to cut 5 hearts from the daisy print paper.  Use the smallest Circle Pattern with Blue Blade on the outside edge to cut a circle from the yellow print paper.  My photo mat is 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and is also from the Vista Shimmer Cardstock.

(This exclusive shimmer cardstock is significantly lighter in weight than other shimmer cardstock that CM has offered.  So it’s much easier on our blades and punches.  The NSD Coordinating Cardstock also contains 2 sheets of Lagoon Shimmer Cardstock – an aqua shade that I did not use on any of my layouts.)

Complete your layout with stickers and embellishments adhering some with Foam Squares as shown.

To make my third layout, cut a 12″ x 6-3/4″ piece of the green dot pattern from one of the sheets of multi-print paper and a 12″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the yellow print paper and adhere to a sheet of white cardstock.  (For layouts like these, I like to use the packaging piece of cardstock that is included in CM paper packs.  One side of these sheets is printed with info about the paper pack, but they are nice heavy sheets of photo-safe white cardstock.)

Use the Custom Cutting System with the old Jumbo Circle Pattern and Blue Blade on the inside edge to cut a half circle from the daisy print paper.  Use the Green Blade on the inside edge to cut a half circle from evergreen cardstock.  (Don’t cut full circles as you’ll want to conserve your paper.)  Use the Original Border Maker System with Lace Flower Chain Cartridge to punch two borders from the yellow print paper.  Adhere the three pieces bending the flower border as you adhere it behind the green cardstock.

KarynCropsNSDBlog - Page 082

Use the Original Border Maker System with Lace Flower Chain Cartridge to punch a border from white cardstock and adhere to a 12″ x 1″ strip of evergreen cardstock.  Use the new Essentials 4-Way Punch to punch small circles for the flower centers from yellow print paper.  Adhere the border piece and the semi-circle on the page as shown.

From white cardstock, use the Banner Flag Punch to punch three banners.  Use a dark green pen to add faux stitching to the banners and the heart and flower embellishments.  Adhere banners with stickers and embellishments as shown adhering some with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsNSDBlog - Page 084

For my next layout, adhere an 11″ x 7″ piece of daisy print paper and an 11″ x 2-3/4′ piece of the striped paper to a sheet of navy cardstock.  Use the Flower Child Punch to punch a border from yellow print paper.  Use the old CM Daisy Bouquet Punch to punch small daisies from white cardstock, and punch centers from yellow print paper using the new CM Essentials 4-Way Punch.  Adhere to the Flower Child border as shown and adhere finished border to the page.

KarynCropsNSDBlog - Page 083

Use the Banner Flag Punch to punch banners from cloud cardstock, and use a navy pen to add faux stitching to the banners and the heart embellishments.  Create three clusters with embellishments and stickers as shown and adhere the cluster pieces with Foam Squares.

For my last layout, I used a sketch from the recent World Wide Virtual Crop held by Creative Memories as my inspiration.  Adhere a 12″ x 3″ piece of yellow dot paper to a sheet of white cardstock.  Add a 12″ x 6-1/2″ piece of cloud cardstock and a 12″ x 1″ piece of yellow dot paper.  Use the old CM Daisy Punch to punch daisies from the daisy print paper and Vista Shimmer Cardstock, and cut flowers in half.  Punch flower centers from yellow paper using the Embossed Trio Flower Punch.  Assemble flower pieces and adhere to layout as shown adding a vine sticker.

KarynCropsNSDBlog - Page 079

Use the Custom Cutting System with the largest Circle Pattern and Blue Blade on the inside edge to cut two circles from daisy print paper.  Cut circles in half and adhere to bottom of layout as shown.  Cut a 4-3/4″ x 7″ piece of yellow paper and a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Vista Shimmer Cartridge to create a photo mat.

My square daisy piece is the packaging from the NSD Gift Embellishments.  I cut it slightly and matted it with Vista Shimmer Cardstock.  From yellow print paper and Vista Shimmer Cardstock, I created a ribbon piece for the right edge.  Add stickers and embellishments adhering with Foam Squares as shown.

I hope that I’ve inspired you with my National Scrapbook Day layouts!  Please contact me if you would like to purchase any of these NSD materials as they are only available directly from a CM advisor.

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Fall Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!  My friends and I at Creative Life Scrapbooking are so glad that you’re joining us for our Fall Blog Hop!  After you finish looking at my projects, click on the link at the bottom of my post to hop over to Stefani’s blog to see more ideas.

Today I’m sharing scrapbook pages using all of Creative Memories fall themed products!  I made my first page using the Exclusive Limited Edition Croptoberfest 2017 Project Recipe Kit.  This kit contains decorative paper, stickers, cardstock and instructions to make two double-page layouts and is only available to purchase directly from a CM advisor.  Instead of using the kit instructions, I used the materials to make my own fall themed page.

Use a 12″ x 12″ white scrapbook page or piece of white cardstock as your base.  From the decorative paper and cardstock in the kit, cut a variety of strips of varying widths and 6″ in height.  Using CM’s Original Border Maker System with the Zig Zag Cartridge, punch three borders from the orange print paper and cut each in half.  From green floral print paper, cut a 12″ x 1/2″ strip.  Using the Border Maker with the Scallop Dot Cartridge, punch a border from the teal cardstock and cut off of your cardstock at 2″.  Assemble page as shown adding stickers and faux pen stitching as shown.  I used Foam Square Adhesives to adhere some of my stickers.

I used CM’s Limited Edition Toil & Trouble Paper Pack and the Exclusive 2017 Croptoberfest Cardstock for my second page.  This pack of cardstock coordinates with all of our fall collections and can only be purchased directly from a CM advisor.  To make my page, use the cream cardstock in the pack as the base of the page.  From the floral designer paper, cut a 3″ x 12″ strip.  From the teal dot paper, cut a 2″ x 12″ strip.  From wood print designer paper, cut strips that measure 1″ in height and notch the ends with scissors.  Thinly mat the wood strips with the dark orange cardstock.  Cut two 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ photo mats from the dark orange cardstock.  Using the Maple Leaf Punch, punch 6 dark orange cardstock and 6 orange print leaves.  Assemble page as shown adding title with CM’s new Burnt Orange ABC Letter Stickers.

The Countryside Comfort Collection was perfect for my last three fall pages.  To make the page above, cut bird print paper to 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ and adhere to a 12″ x 12″ piece of brown cardstock (To conserve cardstock, cut out a hollow square frame from the center of the cardstock first.)  From brown cardstock, cut a photo frame to 10-7/8″ x 4-1/4″.  Crop photos to 3-1/2″ x 4″ and adhere to mat.  Use CM’s new Victorian Fence Punch to punch a fence from brown cardstock and adhere underneath the top of the photo mat.  Using the Border Maker with new Pumpkins Cartridge, punch two borders from brown cardstock and one border from orange print designer paper.  Adhere the two brown pumpkins border together, and then add the orange pumpkin border onto the top adhering with Foam Squares.  Adhere border to bottom of photo mat.  From brown cardstock, use Maple Leaf Punch to punch 20 leaves.  Use Maple Leaf Punch to punch 10 leaves from gold designer paper and 10 leaves from orange designer paper.  Mat the leaves and assemble as shown.  Adhere the top 6 leaves with Foam Squares.  Add titles using the new Everyday Sentiments Embellishments.

To make my second Countryside Comfort page (above), cut wood print paper to 11″ x 11″ and adhere to top of the plaid paper.  (To conserve paper, cut out a hollow square frame from the center of the plaid paper first.)  Using the Border Maker with Scallop Dot Cartridge, punch a border from orange paper, cut off of your paper at 2″, and trim to 11″ wide.  Using Victorian Fence Punch, punch a fence from brown cardstock, cut to 11″ wide, and trim as shown.  From floral print paper, cut a 11″ x 3/8″ strip and thread through the fence piece as shown.  (See photo below.)  Using the Custom Cutting System with the largest Circle Pattern, cut a circle from floral paper using the green blade on the outside edge.  Cut a circle from brown cardstock using the blue blade on the outside edge.  Crop photos to 3-1/2″ x 4″ and mat with orange paper cut to 3-3/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Assemble page as shown adding banners, a journaling box and Countryside Comfort stickers as shown.  I used Foam Squares for my banners and stickers.

For my last page, I used paper, stickers, and variety mats from the Countryside Comfort Collection.  I also used the November Sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine as my inspiration.

To make the page above, cut the white/grey print paper to 4-3/4″ x 10″ and mat with a 5″ x 10-1/4″ piece of navy cardstock.  Mat the two variety mats with navy cardstock cut to 1/4″ larger, and add photos that are also matted with navy cardstock.  Using the Victorian Fence Punch, punch fence pieces from the white/grey print paper and navy cardstock.  Using the Custom Cutting System with the heart from the Gemstone Patterns, cut a heart from orange print paper using the red blade on the outside edge and cut a second heart from navy cardstock using the green blade on the outside edge.  Use CM’s old Daisy Punch and Maple Leaf Punch to punch flowers and leaves from wood print and orange print papers and navy cardstock.  Assemble page as shown adding stickers and using Foam Squares to adhere the flowers and the bird stickers to the fence.
