Creative Life Scrapbooking Fall Blog Hop – Harvest Delight Scrapbook Layouts

Hello and welcome to our Creative Life Scrapbooking Fall Blog Hop!  There are 7 of us blog hopping today and sharing some fall scrapbooking ideas with you.  Just follow the links the end of this post to see more!  You might also like to follow Creative Life Scrapbooking on Facebook where we share weekly ideas and inspiration.

Today I’m sharing several layouts that I created with the very beautiful Harvest Delight collection from Creative Memories.  This collection contains some unique shades of green, teal/gray, chartreuse, and orange.  If you live in an area that doesn’t experience an autumn season, you’ll find that these colors and the paper patterns are neutral enough for other uses.

Shades of yellow and gold are some of my favorites, and when I opened the Harvest Delight Paper pack, I was first drawn to the two sheets of paper with the gold-chartreuse floral and leaf patterns.  These colors and patterns resemble the field of wildflowers in the background of my photo from mid-summer.  With my layout design, I tried to mimic the composition of the photo from walking out of the background and into the forefront.

  • Cut a hollow frame from a piece of tan cardstock.  I used the tan cardstock that was included in the Croptoberfest 2019 Cardstock Sampler Pack.
  • Cut a sheet of white floral paper to 11″ x 11″, and then cut a large circle from the center.  I used the retired Jumbo Circle Pattern for the Custom Cutting System with the Blue Blade on the inside edge.  If you don’t have the Jumbo Circle Pattern, cut a circle with an 8-1/4″ diameter.  (Or you could cut a large circle from the leaf paper and adhere it to the white floral piece.)
  • Layer a piece of the leaf patterned paper behind the circle cutout.
  • Use the Songbirds Border Punch to punch a border from the tan cardstock, trim and adhere it to the bottom of the white floral paper.
  • Mat your photo with tan cardstock.  My photo mat is 7-1/4″ x 5-1/4″.
  • Adhere Harvest Delight Embellishments with Foam Squares to preserve their multi-dimensional look.
  • Add faux pen stitching as shown.

I decorated my layout with bouquets of the Harvest Delight Embellishments.  With their gold foil accents, texture and dimension, these embellishments are incredibly lovely and are my favorite item in the collection.  (I’ll be stocking up on these for future use!)

I completed my layout by adhering a title from the Moments to Memories Laser Cut Embellishments to my photo with the Precision Point Glue Pen and adding faux pen stitching.

My second layout is a fun way to incorporate four photos on a single page.   To create my mosaic pumpkin, I first made a template and tracing pieces.

  • Draw a large circle on a piece of scrap paper (I used the packaging insert from the Harvest Delight Paper.).
  • Flatten out the top and bottom of your circle with swell shapes that mimic a pumpkin.
  • Use a ruler and pencil to draw a grid design onto your paper template.  I made sure that some of my shapes were large enough to accommodate most of a 4″ x 6″ and 6″ x 4″ photo.
  • Use scissors to cut out the grid pieces, and use the individual pieces as templates to trace and cut photos and paper pieces.IMG_9644
  • Assemble your cut pieces onto your background paper and adhere.
  • Add faux pen stitching on the paper pieces
  • Add Harvest Delight Embellishments and Stickers.

I love combining masculine and feminine prints, and I like that the Harvest Delight Paper pack contains some of each.  Although I made a single page, this layout could easily be adapted into a double-page layout by cutting the strips a little wider to reach the right edge of the plaid paper, and then duplicating the pieces on a second page.

  • To begin, cut a 7″ x 7″ square from the bottom center portion of the plaid paper and set that aside for future use.
  • Layer strips of the chartreuse and gray to cover the hole.  From the top down, my strips measure: 10″ x 4-1/4″; 10″ x 5-1/4″; and 10″ x 1-1/2″.  Remember not to add adhesive to the top left corner of the top strip as you will be folding it over.
  • Use the Lace Trim Border Punch to punch two strips from the orange paper and add those on top of the chartreuse pieces.
  • Mat and add your photo.  My photo mat is 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.
  • Fussy cut the title from a Harvest Delight variety mat.
  • Add Harvest Delight Embellishments and gemstones and a Harvest Delight sticker.
  • Complete the layout with faux pen stitching with a black pen.

I displayed all of these pages at my recent weekend retreat, and I believe that this layout was a favorite as I saw that many of my attendees copied it.  I love how my photos really pop on these pretty pages!

  • Start with two sheets of dark gray cardstock as your base.  I used Iron Gray from CM’s last limited edition Cardstock Buffet.
  • Cut a sheet of the white hexagon paper into two 11″ x 5-1/2″ pieces, and cut a sheet of the gray striped paper to two 11″ x 5-1/4″ pieces.  Adhere the pieces to the backgrounds meeting the right and left edges together and leaving a 1/4″ gap in-between the white and grey pieces.
  • From white cardstock, use the retired Victorian Fence Border Punch to punch two borders.
  • From the dark gray cardstock, use the Songbirds Border Punch to punch two borders.
  • From the orange paper, use the Original Border Maker with the retired Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge to punch two borders.
  • Trim and layer the border pieces as shown adhering the pumpkins with Foam Squares.
  • Mat your photos with the dark gray cardstock.
  • Use the Original Border Maker System with the Simple Leaf Chain Border Maker Cartridge to punch a border from dark gray cardstock, and use your scissors to cut apart the leaves.  Use these pieces to create flower and leaf embellishments as shown.
  • Use the Songbirds Border Punch to punch a single piece from the orange paper and adhere as shown.
  • Finish the layout by layering Harvest Delight Stickers adhering some with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsHarvestDelightCLSBlogHop - Page 086

My next layout makes use of the Harvest Delight Stickers and would also be great for Thanksgiving photos.  This layout could also easily be adapted into a double-page layout by duplicating the piecing on a second sheet of white cardstock.

  • Start with a sheet of white cardstock and add 4″ x 5″ pieces of the floral print, chartreuse and gray stripe papers.
  • Add border stickers and other stickers as shown.
  • Fussy cut the title from a Harvest Delight variety mat and adhere with Foam Squares.
  • My photos measure 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ and 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

My last layout is quick and easy, and it completes my series of pumpkin photos from last year.  To convert it into a double-page spread, just reverse the slant on your second page and add a leaf border to the right hand edge.

  • Cut the white hexagon paper to 10″ x 10-3/4″ and adhere to the orange print paper at an angle.
  • Use the Original Border Maker System with the Simple Leaf Chain Border Maker Cartridge to punch a border from the green/gray print paper and adhere on the left side of the white print paper.
  • Add a Harvest Delight Variety Mat, photos and a few stickers adhered with Foam Squares.
  • My photos measure 4″ x 5-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 4″.

Fall Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!  My friends and I at Creative Life Scrapbooking are so glad that you’re joining us for our Fall Blog Hop!  After you finish looking at my projects, click on the link at the bottom of my post to hop over to Stefani’s blog to see more ideas.

Today I’m sharing scrapbook pages using all of Creative Memories fall themed products!  I made my first page using the Exclusive Limited Edition Croptoberfest 2017 Project Recipe Kit.  This kit contains decorative paper, stickers, cardstock and instructions to make two double-page layouts and is only available to purchase directly from a CM advisor.  Instead of using the kit instructions, I used the materials to make my own fall themed page.

KarynCropsWordpressFallBlogHop - Page 095

Use a 12″ x 12″ white scrapbook page or piece of white cardstock as your base.  From the decorative paper and cardstock in the kit, cut a variety of strips of varying widths and 6″ in height.  Using CM’s Original Border Maker System with the Zig Zag Cartridge, punch three borders from the orange print paper and cut each in half.  From green floral print paper, cut a 12″ x 1/2″ strip.  Using the Border Maker with the Scallop Dot Cartridge, punch a border from the teal cardstock and cut off of your cardstock at 2″.  Assemble page as shown adding stickers and faux pen stitching as shown.  I used Foam Square Adhesives to adhere some of my stickers.

KarynCropsWordpressFallBlogHop - Page 092

I used CM’s Limited Edition Toil & Trouble Paper Pack and the Exclusive 2017 Croptoberfest Cardstock for my second page.  This pack of cardstock coordinates with all of our fall collections and can only be purchased directly from a CM advisor.  To make my page, use the cream cardstock in the pack as the base of the page.  From the floral designer paper, cut a 3″ x 12″ strip.  From the teal dot paper, cut a 2″ x 12″ strip.  From wood print designer paper, cut strips that measure 1″ in height and notch the ends with scissors.  Thinly mat the wood strips with the dark orange cardstock.  Cut two 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ photo mats from the dark orange cardstock.  Using the Maple Leaf Punch, punch 6 dark orange cardstock and 6 orange print leaves.  Assemble page as shown adding title with CM’s new Burnt Orange ABC Letter Stickers.

KarynCropsWordpressFallBlogHop - Page 094

The Countryside Comfort Collection was perfect for my last three fall pages.  To make the page above, cut bird print paper to 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ and adhere to a 12″ x 12″ piece of brown cardstock (To conserve cardstock, cut out a hollow square frame from the center of the cardstock first.)  From brown cardstock, cut a photo frame to 10-7/8″ x 4-1/4″.  Crop photos to 3-1/2″ x 4″ and adhere to mat.  Use CM’s new Victorian Fence Punch to punch a fence from brown cardstock and adhere underneath the top of the photo mat.  Using the Border Maker with new Pumpkins Cartridge, punch two borders from brown cardstock and one border from orange print designer paper.  Adhere the two brown pumpkins border together, and then add the orange pumpkin border onto the top adhering with Foam Squares.  Adhere border to bottom of photo mat.  From brown cardstock, use Maple Leaf Punch to punch 20 leaves.  Use Maple Leaf Punch to punch 10 leaves from gold designer paper and 10 leaves from orange designer paper.  Mat the leaves and assemble as shown.  Adhere the top 6 leaves with Foam Squares.  Add titles using the new Everyday Sentiments Embellishments.

KarynCropsWordpressFallBlogHop - Page 093

To make my second Countryside Comfort page (above), cut wood print paper to 11″ x 11″ and adhere to top of the plaid paper.  (To conserve paper, cut out a hollow square frame from the center of the plaid paper first.)  Using the Border Maker with Scallop Dot Cartridge, punch a border from orange paper, cut off of your paper at 2″, and trim to 11″ wide.  Using Victorian Fence Punch, punch a fence from brown cardstock, cut to 11″ wide, and trim as shown.  From floral print paper, cut a 11″ x 3/8″ strip and thread through the fence piece as shown.  (See photo below.)  Using the Custom Cutting System with the largest Circle Pattern, cut a circle from floral paper using the green blade on the outside edge.  Cut a circle from brown cardstock using the blue blade on the outside edge.  Crop photos to 3-1/2″ x 4″ and mat with orange paper cut to 3-3/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Assemble page as shown adding banners, a journaling box and Countryside Comfort stickers as shown.  I used Foam Squares for my banners and stickers.

For my last page, I used paper, stickers, and variety mats from the Countryside Comfort Collection.  I also used the November Sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine as my inspiration.

KarynCropsWordpressFallBlogHop-GatherPage

To make the page above, cut the white/grey print paper to 4-3/4″ x 10″ and mat with a 5″ x 10-1/4″ piece of navy cardstock.  Mat the two variety mats with navy cardstock cut to 1/4″ larger, and add photos that are also matted with navy cardstock.  Using the Victorian Fence Punch, punch fence pieces from the white/grey print paper and navy cardstock.  Using the Custom Cutting System with the heart from the Gemstone Patterns, cut a heart from orange print paper using the red blade on the outside edge and cut a second heart from navy cardstock using the green blade on the outside edge.  Use CM’s old Daisy Punch and Maple Leaf Punch to punch flowers and leaves from wood print and orange print papers and navy cardstock.  Assemble page as shown adding stickers and using Foam Squares to adhere the flowers and the bird stickers to the fence.

Adventure Scrapbook Layouts

KarynCropsWordpressAdventureMeme

Sometimes life can go by in the blink of an eye.  I’m not sure how the last six weeks have flown by so quickly, but in the hustle and bustle my blog suffered.  I hope that these layouts make up for missing a post in September.

During the past two weeks, I’ve been busy making lots of sample pages from almost all of Creative Memories current product collections to share with the attendees at my up-coming weekend retreat.  It’s been no small task as CM currently has about 20 different collections.  I love to showcase all of the great paper patterns and coordinating mats, stickers and embellishments and also to show my customers lots of different ways to use our tools.

Here are the pages that I made from the Adventure Collection.  I used the Adventure Paper, Stickers, and Variety Mats.  Although most are single pages, they can all easily be adapted to double-page spreads.

KarynCropsWordpressAdventureLayouts - Page 096

To create this layout, cut the dark orange paper to 9″ x 10″, mat with brown cardstock, and adhere to beige cardstock.  Cut a piece of the fish/log paper to 9″ x 2-1/2″ and cut in half diagonally.  Flip one side over and mat both pieces with brown cardstock.  Cut a piece of plaid paper to 3-3/4″ x 8-3/4″, notch the bottom edge, and mat with brown cardstock.  My photo is 7″ x 5″ and also matted with brown cardstock.  I adhered all of the stickers with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsWordpressAdventureLayouts - Page 093

This page shows a great way to use the Gemstone Cutting Patterns.  Start by cutting the center paper to 10″ x 10″, matting with evergreen cardstock, and adhering to the background paper.  Using the Custom Cutting System with the Gemstone Cutting Patterns, cut seven hexagons from designer paper and two photos using the green blade.  Cut mats for the hexagons from evergreen cardstock using the red blade.  Notch the edges of a 4″ x 6″ photo using the 4-Way Corner and Hole Punch and mat with evergreen cardstock.  I adhered the title stickers and the two hexagon photos with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsWordpressAdventureLayouts - Page 095

I love the designer paper that I used for the background of this page and hated to cover it up.  Start the page by adhering a 12″ x 2″ strip of the stone paper to the bottom edge.  Cut a piece of navy cardstock to 12″ x 2-1/2″, and punch one edge using the Original Border Maker with Paw Prints Cartridge and the other edge with the Evergreen Cartridge.  Adhere on top of the stone paper so the rocks show through the paw prints.  Adhere the boot print sticker to the border as shown.  The title piece is a variety mat cut to 4″ x 4″ and double matted with stone paper and navy cardstock.  Punch antlers using the Outdoor Adventure Quartet Punch and adhere to the title mat.  My photos are also 4″ x 4″ and matted with navy cardstock.  I adhered the title mat, my photos and some of the stickers with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsWordpressAdventureLayouts - Page 094

To create this page, cut the log paper to 4″ x 12″ and edge with a strip of torn evergreen cardstock.  Using the Original Border Maker with Evergreen Cartridge, punch two borders from evergreen cardstock.  Layer the border pieces and cut to fit.  Cut a piece of the tree sticker strip to fit.  The journaling box is cut from a variety mat and embellished with antlers punched from the Outdoor Adventure Quartet Punch and stickers.  I adhered the journaling box and evergreen tree stickers with Foam Squares.

KarynCropsWordpressLayoutsAdventureDouble

My last layout is a quick and easy double-page spread.  Using the Decorative Trimmer, cut four pieces from the fish paper measuring 12″ x 1″.  Mat the border pieces with evergreen cardstock, adhere to background papers as shown.  The title box is variety mat cut to 4-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and matted with evergreen cardstock.  The journaling box is also a variety mat cut to 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and matted with evergreen cardstock.  Punch fish using the Outdoor Adventure Quartet Punch and adhere with Foam Squares as shown.
