Secret Garden Scrapbook Layouts

Oh my goodness!  The new Secret Garden Collection from Creative Memories just might be their most beautiful collection yet!  It’s full of soft watercolor designs in shades of purple and teal.  The Fast2Fab Album with Pre-Designed Pages is absolutely stunning, and has received rave reviews from my customers.  At my recent weekend retreat, I sold 6 of the Fast2Fab Albums!  Personally, I love the Secret Garden Stickers most of all.  The sticker pack is full of lovely floral arrangements and sweet sentiments that are perfect for adorning pretty pages and cards!

We used the Secret Garden Paper and Stickers at my Crop Club last month.  At Crop Club, we use one page sketch, one pack of paper, one pack of stickers or embellishments, and some cardstock to make three double-page layouts.  Please contact me if you live in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois area and would like to attend my Crop Club.  Or contact me if you’re interested in participating in my Crop Club by mail and would like to purchase my Secret Garden Crop Club Kit.  Below are the three layouts that can be created from the kit.

We used a 1-2-3 Page Sketch created by my friend, Noreen Smith.  Noreen has created a series of simple sketches that require only three cuts from one sheet of designer paper, and she shares some of these sketches on her blog, Organized & Creative Mom.  She has recently created an e-book of sketches that you can purchase from her blog.

The first layout is adorned with Secret Garden Stickers and also punch outs from CM’s new Double Heart Punch and borders punched with the Doily Border Punch.  The corners of the journaling box were punched with CM’s new 4-Way Heart & Stars Corner and Hole Punch.

My second layout features a bottom border punched with the Original Border Maker System and the Picket Fence Cartridge.  The Picket Fence Cartridge is one of three cartridges that come with the system when purchased.  A thin 12″ x 5/8″ strip of designer paper was threaded through the picket fence to create a ribbon effect.

I also included a few hearts from the Double Heart Punch and another journaling box with corners punched with the 4-Way Heart & Stars Corner and Hole Punch.

My third layout features a lovely border that I created with the recently sold-out Teardrop Lattice Border Punch.  I punched one border and cut it in half lengthwise and adhered each half to each page and topped them with border stickers adhered with Foam Squares. (This is a good reminder that CM’s punches and cartridges for the Original Border Maker System are considered limited edition items and are only available in a set quantity.  These items are projected to stay in inventory for 3-12 months, but some sell out quickly.)

On all three of my layouts, you’ll notice that I adhered most of the flower, butterfly and title stickers with Foam Squares.  I love the added dimension that the Foam Squares provide to my pages.

You’ll also notice that all three layouts feature a different way to arrange five 4″ x 6″ and 6″ x 4″ photos.  However, you can crop your photos into smaller sizes and arrange them to your liking.

I love all three of these layouts and can’t decide which is my favorite.  Which one do you like best?  Please leave me a comment – I would love to hear from you!

I look forward to making and sharing more pretty pages with this beautiful collection!  Please contact me if you’re interested in purchasing the materials to create these layouts.

Happy Scrapping!

Bee Mine – Valentine Scrapbook Layouts

February is the month of love, and today I’m sharing  Valentine scrapbooking pages that I made with the new Bee Mine materials from Creative Memories.  This collection is perfect for fun loved-themed pages!  The Bee Mine Collection features a super cute embossed album cover, designer paper, stickers, and layered embellishments, and all of these items can be purchased on my Creative Memories website.

The Bee Mine Paper, Stickers and Embellishments were perfect for this sweet page of my granddaughter.  The layout consists of a large heart made from 1″ squares.  I suggest laying out your heart first before you adhere the pieces.  You may have to move it around a bit on your cardstock to get the spacing right.  Try positioning your heart from the bottom up to leave space at the top for the banner sticker.

From the bottom up, here are the number of squares in each row.
1.  1 partial square
2.  3 squares (2 partial)
3.  5 squares (2 partial)
4.  7 squares (2 partial)
5.  9 squares (2 partial)
6.  9 squares
7.  9 squares
8.  9 squares (1 partial in center)
9.  8 squares (4 partial) separated by a space in the middle

I used the Bee Mine Stickers and the epoxy bees from the embellishment pack to adorn the page.  I also included flowers made with the new Daisy Bouquet Punch and arrows punched with the Original Border Maker System with the new Arrow Cartridge.  Foam Squares under some of my stickers really gave a nice pop, and a little detailing with a black pen really brought the page to life.

I used the same materials and the Border Maker with Arrow Cartridge on my second page and got a totally different look.

KarynCropsWordpressBeeMinePages - Page 084

To make this page, cut the red geometric patterned paper to 11″ x 11″ and adhere to the heart paper.  To conserve paper, you may cut out the center of the heart paper.  From a piece of red cardstock, punch a row of a arrows using the Border Maker and Arrow Cartridge.  Turn the cardstock to the adjoining side, and punch another row.  Make sure that your arrows are going in the direction that you like and start your punching in the second position on the Border Maker guide as to not overlap your arrows.  From the cardstock, cut off the “L” shaped piece at 1″ wide and adhere to page.  Adhere the punched out arrows adjacent to the piece.

I love how the piece of blue paper helps to cool down the page and draw attention to the photo.  Cut blue paper to 8″ x 8″ and mat a photo with red cardstock.  My photo is 5″ x 7″.  Create a journaling box using the Custom Cutting System with smaller heart from the Gemstone Cutting Patterns.  Cut the white cardstock with the red blade on the outside edge and the red cardstock using the green blade on the outside edge.  Adorn with stickers and embellishments.  I adhered some stickers with Foam Squares.

My next page is full of hearts!  I cut the larger hearts using the Custom Cutting System with the smaller heart from the Gemstone Cutting Patterns and the red and green blades.  The smaller hearts were punched with CM’s old Heart Shape Makers.  To make the heart border towards the top of the page, punch a border using the new Teardrop Lattice Border Punch.  Hand-cut with your scissors a row of hearts from the lattice pattern.  Please see the video that Noreen Smith created for Creative Life Scrapbooking on different ways to use this border punch and how to cut out a heart pattern.  To finish the page, I added stickers, embellishments, an arrow punch out, and also some faux stitching with a gold pen.

For my last page, I used the Teardrop Lattice Border Punch to create a honeycomb to accompany the darling honey bee paper, stickers, and embellishments.

KarynCropsWordpressBeeMinePages - Page 082

To create the large honeycomb piece, cut a hollow frame from Gold Shimmer Cardstock using the Custom Cutting System and Jumbo Hexagon Pattern.  Use the blue blade on the inside edge to cut a hexagon.  Without moving the paper or the cutting pattern, cut another hexagon using the red blade on the inside edge.  From the Gold Shimmer Cardstock, punch 5 lattice pieces using the Teardrop Lattice Border Punch.  Trim the pieces and use the Precision Point Glue Pen to glue to the back side of the hollow hexagon frame.  Adhere the piece to the honey bee paper using the glue pen.  Punch another lattice piece for the border across the top of the page and place the bee border sticker on top.  Attach the border piece to your page with Foam Squares.  My photos are cropped to 4″ x 4″ and matted with the gold patterned paper in the Bee Mine Paper Pack.  Add the bee stickers and embellishments using Foam Squares on some.
