Creative Life Scrapbooking Winter Blog Hop – Ever After Scrapbook Layouts

Welcome to our Creative Life Scrapbooking Winter Blog Hop!  We’re sharing ideas using some of our favorite Creative Memories products that were released this winter.  Just follow the links at the bottom of my post to continue blog hopping.

I used the new Ever After Collection from Creative Memories for my layouts.  Although this collection is marketed as a wedding collection, I found that the colors and patterns worked beautifully for some photos of my new granddaughter.  Most of the stickers are wedding themed, so I only used a few stickers and relied on the Ever After Laser Cut Frames and Ever After Variety Mats to adorn my pages.  For my titles, I used some older CM products.

For my first layout, I created a shabby chic ruffed border by tearing ~1″ strips from the green designer paper, crumpling it up, unfolding it, and then randomly folding pleats forwards and backwards.  Afterwards, I flattened the top edges with my hands and taped the pieces to a strip of cardstock to make it easier to handle.  I then adhered the entire piece to my page and covered the top edge with an Ever After sticker strip adhered with Foam Squares.  Underneath the top edge, I tucked in a border punched from a variety mat with the Original Border Maker System and new Rose Chain Border Maker Cartridge.

I made a paper bow from the wood print designer paper and also matted my 7″ x 5″ photo with the same paper.  I included a frame from the embellishment pack under the top edge of my photo and added some stickers around my bow.  The title is from the old Everyday Sentiments Laser Cut Embellishments.

My second layout consists of multi-layers of paper strips and borders.  The rose print paper measures 12″ x 3-1/2″, the light green print paper is 12″ x 3-1/4″, and the two dark green print strips are 12″ x 1/4″.  I included a border on the top that was punched from the light green print paper with the Original Border Maker System and new Heart Duet Cartridge and a border in the middle punched with the Original Border Maker and new Rose Chain Cartridge.

I matted my 7″ x 5″ photo with the mauve striped paper and slid the entire piece into an oval frame from the embellishment pack.  I layered the photo piece over a lovely floral laser cut piece also from the embellishment pack.

I finished the layout with Ever After stickers under the top corner of the photo and title stickers from the Little Lamb Girl Stickers.

I pieced together a few strips of paper to make the background of my third layout.  I punched the top edge of a 12″ x 7″ piece of light green print paper with the Original Border Maker and Garland Cartridge and adhered this piece on top of a 12″ x 5-1/4″ piece of wood print paper.  I adhered a 12″ x 1-1/2″ strip of wood print paper underneath the top edge of the light green print paper and left a 1/4″ exposed at the top – making sure that my total page measures 12″ x 12″.  I matted my photo with a 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″ piece of wood paper and layered it over a frame from the embellishment pack.

I used an old Natural Elegance Variety Mat as my title and layered it over an Ever After Variety Mat and roses that I fussy cut from the rose print paper.  I added a laser cut embellishment from the embellishment pack on top of the title card.

Lastly, I used the Original Border Maker with Rose Chain Cartridge to punch two rose borders from the mauve striped paper and layered these pieces underneath the garland border at the top of the page.

To create my last layout, I fussy cut half of the outside edge of a sheet of the rose print paper and adhered this to a sheet of 12″ x 12″ white cardstock.  I then cut a 1/4″ frame from the outside edge of a sheet of the wood print paper and adhered this to my page.  My photo is matted with a 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″ piece of wood paper and layered on top of a green striped variety mat.

To embellish my layout, I fussy cut more roses from the rose print paper and included Bloom & Blend Greenery Embellishments and a title from the Little Lamb Girl Stickers.

I hope that I’ve inspired you with the Ever After Collection.  Any of my layouts could be used for other types of photos – including wedding photos – and can also be easily adapted into double-page spreads or adapted to include more photos and journaling.

More Seasons Greetings Scrapbook Layouts

I’m back with a few more layouts using the Seasons Greetings Collection from Creative Memories.  This collection has been selling so well that it’s already in low supply and has been moved to the GOING GONE section of the CM website, and unfortunately some are no longer available.  Please order these materials now while they’re still available.

This vintage-inspired collection reminds me of a cross-stitch sampler that my mother hangs in her home during the winter months.  The sampler has a motif similar to the paper above with houses and churches on snow-covered hills with the saying, “Over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother’s house we go.”  My layout above features the Rolling Hills Border Maker Cartridge that was so popular that it quickly sold out.  However, CM has ordered more in a limited supply and expects it to be available again later in the winter.  Watch for it’s arrival as it will likely sell out quickly when it returns.

To make my page, cut a piece of the green hounds-tooth paper to 12″ x 4-1/4″ and punch the top edge using the Original Border Maker System with the Rolling Hills Cartridge.  Use the 12″ Decorative Trimmer to cut a swell edge on a strip of 12″ x 3″ house print paper.  Cut two 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″ photo mats from the red patterned paper.  I embellished my page with a title sticker adhered with Foam Squares, a bow embellishment, and bells from the Seasons Greetings Laser But Borders.

The Seasons Greetings Laser Cut Borders are an absolute must-have item.  They are exquisitely cut with incredibly fine detail.  Each pack contains one of each of the borders above.  For my layout, I cut apart the row of bells to make the border go further.  I’ll make my layout into a double-page spread and will use the remaining bows on the second page.

My second layout again features the Rolling Hills Border Cartridge and also the Midnight Star Border Cartridge.  These two cartridges pair together so well!  To create this layout, start by cutting out the center of a piece of 12″ x 12″ Red Cardstock to use as the base.  Cut a piece of the cream star paper to 11-1/2″ x 7″ and punch the top edge using the Original Border Maker System with Midnight Star Cartridge.  Cut a piece of Bronze Cardstock to 11-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ and adhere underneath the punched stars.  Adhere this piece to the bottom of your page leaving a 1/4″ border of the Red Cardstock.  Add a 11-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ piece of green hounds-tooth paper to the top part of the page.

Punch the green damask pattered paper with the Border Maker System and Rolling Hills Cartridge and cut off of the paper at 11-1/5″ x 1-3/4″.  Cut a 1/2″ strip of green hounds-tooth paper and layer these two pieces on the bottom of your layout.  I double-matted my photos with Red and Bronze Cardstock and adorned the page with Seasons Greetings Stickers and Embellishments.  From Red Cardstock, I punched two bows using the new Embossed Bow Punch and added detail to the embossed parts using a Gold Dual-Tip Pen.  I adhered the bows to the tops of my photos with Foam Squares.

A piece of wood-patterned paper from the CM Timber Paper Pack is the base of the layout above.  (I love to mix the Timber Paper with all of our other collections!)   You can create my fun window effect by using a frame from the Seasons Greetings Embellishments, a Variety Mat as the background sky, and snow white hills punched with the Rolling Hills Border Maker Cartridge.  Cut the beard from the Santa sticker and adhere it to the window frame using Foam Squares and add a few word title stickers.

I adhered the Christmas lights laser cut border in three places behind the popped up bow punch-outs.  This gives the lights the look of being strung and hanging across the page.  I cut a Variety Mat into strips to use behind my photos and another Variety Mat as my journaling box.  I added stickers with Foam Squares to the bottom of the layout and cut my photos to fit.

You may have already seen my last layout as I shared it last week at Creative Life Scrapbooking on Facebook.  This layout is made of three strips from the Seasons Greetings Paper Pack. The top strip is 11-1/2″ wide and punched with the Original Border Maker with the Garland Cartridge and cut off at 1″. The middle strip is 11-1/2″ x 4-1/2″, and the bottom strip is 11-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and punched again with the Border Maker with Garland Cartridge. (The Garland Cartridge is currently sold out but will be returning to the CM Product Line later this winter. When it returns, it will be in limited quantity – so plan to purchase it quickly.)

I matted my title mat and photos with 6-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ mats cut from Bronze Cardstock. I also adhered 1/4″ strips of Bronze Cardstock over the seams of the paper strips and adhered the cardinal and poinsettia stickers with Foam Squares.

CLS Fall Blog Hop – Pumpkin Spice Scrapbook Layouts

Today I’m featuring layouts that I created with the new Pumpkin Spice Paper and Stickers from Creative Memories.  (To see layouts that I created with the fall Gather Together Collection, please see my blog post from September 29th.) My first layout below also features the new Creative Memories’ On The Vine Border Punch, paper from the Timber Paper Pack, and Black Sans Serif ABC Stickers.

To create this layout, cut the green vine paper to 8-1/4″ x 11-1/2″ and 3″ x 11-1/2″.  Cut the pumpkin paper to 3-1/4″ x 11-1/2″ and 8-1/4″ x 11-1/2″.  Adhere pieces to two sheets of black cardstock.  To conserve cardstock, you can cut out the centers of the black cardstock.

My photos measure 4″ x 6″ and 4″ x 4″.  I double matted the photos with black cardstock and plaid print paper.  The black mats are 4-1/8″ x 6-1/8″, 4-5/8″ x 6-5/8″, 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ and 4-5/8″ x 4-5/8″.  The plaid mats are 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″.

I included a border punched from black cardstock using the On The Vine Border Punch and sign posts that I hand cut from a piece of paper from the Timber Paper Pack.  I cut apart the pumpkin and leaf border stickers and layered them to create my pumpkin patch and trailed the vine sticker up the sign post.  I adhered the most forward rows of pumpkins and leaves with Foam Squares.  I also included a few individual pumpkin stickers to fill out the patch.

My second layout is a fun and easy Halloween two-page spread.  I used a tool that I don’t often use anymore – the Two-Way Corner Rounder.  I cut 2″ squares from the cute jack-o-lantern, bats and spider papers and rounded the corners with the Two-Way Corner Rounder.

I matted my photos with white cardstock and also rounded the corners on the mats and photos.  I included a few fun stickers and adhered some with Foam Squares.  I finished the layout with details added with a Silver Pen.

My next layout was created on two sheets of Timber Paper (I love how the Timber Paper coordinates with so many of CM’s collections!)  When I created this layout, I must admit to randomly cutting triangles of different sizes and not measuring them.  I just held the paper up to the page and decided where to cut it.  If I were to do it again, I would at least create a 9-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ square out of the floral paper and cut it in half to form the two largest triangles for the middle of the layout.  I matted my triangle pieces with orange cardstock.

I double matted my photos with orange cardstock and brown plaid paper and embellished the layout with border pieces across the bottom.  To create my borders, use the Original Border Maker with the new Garland Cartridge to punch a border from the brown plaid paper.  Mat the border with orange cardstock, and cut the border into 8-1/2″ and 3-1/2″ pieces.  Use the Flower Child Border Punch to punch a border from the brown plaid paper.  Use the Embossed Trio Flower Punch to punch pieces from orange and pale yellow cardstock.  Create flowers and layer them over the Flower Child border.  Cut the border into 6-1/2″ and 3″ pieces.

You may have already seen my last layout as it was featured last week on our Creative Life Scrapbooking Facebook page.  But I also wanted to include it here with my other Pumpkin Spice layouts.

Again, I used another sheet of Timber Paper as the background for this page.  On brown cardstock, I drew a pumpkin shape and cut it out with scissors.  I then cut 3/4″ strips from two of the patterned Pumpkin Spice papers to make my woven pumpkin.

To assemble the pumpkin, I put a very small amount of Repositionable Tape around the entire edge of the pumpkin.  I spaced out and adhered the vertical strips first and then started weaving by sliding the horizontal strips up from the bottom and adhering to the edges as I went.  You may have to adjust a bit as you go and may need to add extra adhesive after all of the strips are woven.

After all of the strips are in place, turn the pumpkin over and trim with scissors.  Finish your pumpkin with a freehand cut stem, Maple Leaf Punch leaves and Pumpkin Spice Stickers. My brown cardstock photo mat measures 9″ x 4-1/4″.

Gather Together Scrapbook Layouts

KarynCropsWordpressGatherTogetherLayouts - Page 080I’ve been busy making sample pages from the new Gather Together Collection from Creative Memories to use as displays and page classes at my up-coming Croptoberfest events in central Illinois.  We’ll begin by celebrating with an all-day Croptoberfest workshop on Saturday, September 29th and again on October 17th-21st with a three- or four-day weekend retreat!  Please see the events tab for info about my events.

My first layout is a double-page spread that features hand-cut leaves, stickers and beautiful multi-layered embellishments with rose gold foil highlights.  The gray dot papers are cut to 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ and mounted on 12″ x 12″ sheets of navy cardstock.  (To conserve cardstock, I cut out the centers of the sheets of navy cardstock.)  My photos are double matted with gold print paper and navy cardstock.  From the sheet of leaf paper, I hand-cut leaves and adhered them with Foam Squares to create an explosion effect.  I also mixed in a few embellishments and a few stickers with the leaves.

My second layout features the new On The Vine Border Punch and Original Border Maker System with the new Garland Cartridge from Creative Memories.  It’s an easy page to make that beautifully highlights my photo and also the two border punches.

Start by cutting a sheet of natural cardstock to 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ and mounting to a sheet of 12″ x 12″ black cardstock.  The yellow paper is 11-1/2″ x 5-3/4″, and the two white floral pieces are 11-1/2″ x 1/2″.  The top vine is punched from black cardstock with the On The Vine Border Punch, and the bottom border was punched from black cardstock with the Original Border Maker System with Garland Cartridge.  I layered a few stickers under the pumpkin embellishment.  Since all of these photos are from the same photo shoot, I only included journaling on my first layout.  But you could add journaling to the right of the photo on this layout.

I used CM’s Custom Cutting System with the old Jumbo Circle Cutting Pattern to cut my large circles in this next layout.  If you don’t have this cutting pattern, you can trace around a large plate or use a Cricut or other cutting machine to make a large circle.  The black circle is ~11″ in diameter, and the white circle is ~1/4″ larger.  I used the On The Vine Border Punch to punch several vine pieces from white cardstock.  I adhered the vine pieces with Repositionable Refill Tape and bent the border into shape as I adhered it.

My photos are matted with 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ white cardstock mats, and the titles are stickers.  I used the Maple Leaf Punch to punch leaves from the new Bronze Shimmer Cardstock and layered the leaves underneath the large embellishment cluster.

I used the new Sweetheart Recipe Template from CM to create my fourth layout.  This 12×12 mylar heart stencil allows you to create a variety of one-of-a-kind layouts with an assortment of traceable heart and chevron shapes – just trace and cut your papers and photos to the pattern of your choosing!

I used black cardstock for the background of my layout and choose to use the chevron pattern with some of the darker patterned papers.   I added a 12″ x 3/4″ strip of black cardstock near the bottom as a background to make the border sticker pop.  I used stickers to decorate the page and hand-cut the large leaf in the upper right corner from a Variety Mat.

I used the Original Border Maker System with Garland Cartridge on the top and bottom of the page and adhered the yellow print paper behind the border parts.  I adhered pieces of the floral print paper behind my tears.  The floral embellishments and title are hand-cut from Variety Mats.  To see and download step-by-step instructions, please see Creative Life Scrapbooking.

I absolutely adore this beautiful collection!  The autumn color palette is one of my very favorites, and each piece of the collection – paper, stickers, embellishments, variety mats, Fast2Fab pages – is a must-have item.  If you need a new album cover, you might want to consider the lovely Gather Together album cover that features brilliant sunset orange bookcloth and is adorned with a stunning leaf design that shines in shades of  gold, copper and deep-orange foil.
